2 years ago, I started as a Financial Analyst in the Real Estate Industry, mostly handling New Deals, Underwritings, Broker calls and Financial Analysis
Transitioning into a Research Analyst from a Financial Analyst involved leveraging my existing skills while developing a deeper understanding of Real Estate Markets and enhancing analytical and communication abilities. I learned more about Sales and Rent Trends, Demographic Analysis, and Market Trends. It’s a journey that offered me opportunities to influence strategic decisions and contribute to not only the company but also our clients’ success.
I assist in making Comparables Analysis Reports, Portfolio Planners, PDDR (Property Deep Dive Report), Numbers Report and Property Valuations.
It was a busy day, and the team is requesting different kinds of reports. Since I was newly hired, I still wasn’t sure if I did the report correctly. But with the help and good communication from my team, I wasn’t really scared of asking questions on how to do the tasks the right way.
Helping clients reach their goals begins with really listening to what they want and any worries they have. I make sure to keep them in the loop with what's happening in the markets and how it affects their goals. I stay connected, making changes as needed, and celebrate wins along the way to keep them motivated and on track. It's all about giving them the tools and support to make their journey smoother and more successful.
As a professional, honesty and respect are my top values. I believe in being upfront and transparent, so clients and colleagues always know where they stand. Learning and growing are also big for me—I'm all about teamwork and bringing fresh ideas to the table. Basically, I aim to keep things honest, respectful, and constantly evolving to make a real difference in what I do.
One of my greatest passions is Surfing. With this, I moved to a little Surf Town in the Philippines where I can get to surf and work remotely at the same time. Also, when waves are flat I mostly skate with my friends. Travelling and exploring nature are also some of my favourite things to do.
Surfing and skating teach me balance and how to roll with unexpected changes, which is super handy for staying cool under pressure at work. Handling risks on the waves or the streets helps me make smarter decisions and adapt fast. Plus, the intense focus needed improves my concentration and productivity. These sports also spark creativity—whether it's finding new ways to catch a wave or land a trick, it translates to thinking outside the box at work. And let's not forget the community aspect—they're great for networking and team spirit, which are key in any career.
The future of the real estate industry appears to be moving towards more sustainable and tech-savvy practices. Demographic changes, such as urbanisation and an ageing population, are also influencing how and where people want to live. Economic factors and government policies will continue to shape market conditions, affecting housing affordability and investment opportunities. Overall, innovation and sustainability are key trends driving the future of Australia's real estate sector.
Personally, I want to focus on staying healthy with my regular sports and mindfulness practices, and I'm aiming to spend more quality time with family and friends. On the professional side, I'm keen on learning and growing, maybe taking on more bigger responsibilities, and expanding my network to explore new career opportunities.
