I really didn’t expect to be a video editor and a graphic designer. My dream job when I was in college is to be a Full Stack Developer focusing on Web Development as I have developed and made Web Applications during my college days, but after I have graduated, I ended up being a Part Time Multimedia Instructor in my Alumni School and after it, ended up loving Graphic Design and Video Editing.
As a YouTube video editor at Search Property, I always consider the editing techniques that can give interactive effects to the viewers so that it can give positive results to the video’s retention. Also, always considering the elements and principle of design can make the video more attractive, giving the viewer's curiosity leading them to watching the videos.
When I was working as a part time video editor at Search Property, I worked with a video that takes almost an hour to be exported as I have added many elements as it is a white board video. And during the time I was exporting, Ravi told me that I needed to submit it as the upload time is within 3 hours. As a result, I found a way which is to export it first in 1080p resolution and after it, converting into 4k resolution.
Always considering the clients’ needs and what purpose do they want is the key in achieving their goals.
Quality. As a graphic designer before and a video editor now. It is always quality output that can give you a boost in your career.
Before working full time at Search Property, I worked for a company based in Minnesota, USA. We cater almost 10 to 20 clients a day per designer, and there was a design that I made that completely made the client satisfied as when it was delivered to them, they gave a positive feedback to the production. And seeing it on Google Reviews is really a milestone for me as the designer.
Playing guitar and violin, also biking. I also really like to make DIY projects at home.
The willingness to learn is a big part of my professional career. After I graduated, I just have a very slight knowledge in video editing. Because of my willingness and curiosity, I ended up being in my career right now. Most of all, just be humble and trust God.
In just months or a year, you can learn a lot of insights especially if you are focusing on a specific niche. As for me, in the future, while focusing in my career as a video editor, I see myself having the improved skillsets and expertise that an expert video editor should have.
Next year, I want to master Adobe After Effects, which can help me make more Motion Graphics and Animation that can give my video outputs more attractiveness. Personally, I also want to improve my social skills as I am not really good at speaking to people in person.
